Calo AI is a calorie and macro tracker that lets you photograph a meal instead of searching a food database. It is an independent product, not part of a large company, and it is governed by Indian law.
Why we built it
Most calorie apps are designed around packaged Western food. If you eat dal, sabzi and rotis made at home, logging means guessing which of fifty user-entered "dal" entries is closest. We wanted an app that understands a home-cooked Indian plate from a photo, suggests meal plans from your own cuisine, and is free to use.
What is free, and how we pay for it
Every feature in Calo AI is free: photo, voice and text logging, meal plans, the AI nutrition coach, the fasting timer and progress charts. The free version shows ads. Premium removes the ads and the waiting, and does not unlock anything extra. The calculators and guides on this website are free with no sign-up, except the photo calculator, which needs a free Google sign-in.
Who writes our guides
Articles, calculators and the calorie guide are written and maintained by the Calo AI Team. We use AI tools to help draft text, the same way we use AI to read meal photos, and we say so on each page. What we do not let AI do is make up numbers: every calorie and protein figure is calculated from a named data source or a stated recipe, and every claim links to its source. We are not doctors or registered dietitians, so our guides are general information, not medical advice.
